No need to rush Archer back to Tests – Vaughan
Former England captain Michael Vaughan has voiced his opinion on the return of fast bowler Jofra Archer to Test cricket, stating that there is no need to rush him back.
Archer has been sidelined due to a recurring elbow injury and Vaughan believes that the team should prioritize his long-term fitness over immediate returns to the playing XI.
“Jofra is a key player for England and we need to ensure that he is fully fit before making a comeback to the Test side,” Vaughan said.
The fast bowler has been a crucial part of England’s pace attack in recent years and his absence has been felt in the team’s performances.
“It is important for Archer to take his time to recover and not be rushed back into action. The team management needs to be patient and give him the required rest and rehabilitation,” Vaughan added.
Archer’s pace and ability to trouble batsmen have made him a valuable asset for England in all formats of the game.
“We should focus on his long-term fitness and ensure that he is fully ready to return to Test cricket when he makes his comeback,” Vaughan emphasized.
With a packed cricket calendar ahead, including important series against India and Australia, England will need Archer at his best to compete at the highest level.
“I am confident that Jofra will make a strong comeback and continue to perform at his best for England in the future,” Vaughan concluded.
